Texas Law faculty served as expert sources for media on a variety of topics and current events. The following faculty were quoted this past month: Randall Erben, Mike Golden, Tara Leigh Grove, Kelly Haragan, Jennifer Laurin, Mimi Marziani, Robert Peroni, Elizabeth Sepper, Chinmayi Sharma, David Spence, Stephen Vladeck, and Heather Way.

Faculty also authored pieces for online and printed media published in the past month. Among them: Lee Kovarsky for Lawfare, Adam Klein for the National Review, Derek Jinks for the Lieber Institute Articles of War, and Michael Schmitt for Just Security. In addition, Vladeck wrote an article for Slate and an opinion piece for the Austin American-Statesman.

Janiece Longoria ’79 was reappointed to the University of Texas System Board of Regents. 
 
Marc R. Stanley ’82 is the U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Argentine Republic. 
 
David Pendarvis ’84, has announced his retirement from being Chief Administrative Officer and Global General Counsel for ResMed Inc.
 
Erleigh Norville Wiley ’88 was appointed to the Texas Crime Victims’ Institute Advisory Council. 
 
Versel (Wall) Rush ’89 was awarded the 2023 Rutland Excellence in Advocacy Award by the Texas State Bar Child Protection Law Section. 
 
Kameron Johnson ’92 was named to the South Central Regional Advisory Board of the Gault Center. 
 
Chris Hawkins ’93 was selected as a 2023 Super Lawyer in the area of Bankruptcy: Business. 
 
Edwin Flores ’96 was reappointed to the Texas School Safety Center Board. 
 
Ben Lane ’99 was appointed to the Bipartisan Elections Task Force in Arizona. 
 
Maurice W. Dobson ’98 was appointed General Counsel and Deputy Commissioner for Legal Affairs of the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development. 
 
Adam Schramek ’01 and Chari Kelly ’02 welcomed daughter Chari Adora Schramek. 
 
Sally Gillette Hankins ‘02 was appointed city attorney of Falls Church, Va. 
 
Carrie Douglas ’04 has joined Bracewell LLP as a partner in healthcare and life science practice. 
 
Heather J. Kliebenstein ‘04 was named managing director of national technology and innovation law firm Merchant & Gould’s seven offices. 
 
Zeena Angadicheril ’05 joined Greenberg Traurig LLP as a Real Estate of counsel in the Austin office.
